Functional Assesment of Below-Knee Amputation

A guestionaire was sent to 58 spinal cord injury patients for functional assessment using PULSES profile. These patient registered at Rehabilitation Medicine Division, Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, during 1983-1985 The study consisted of 3 phases: preprosthetic (before referred to our division), preprosthetic at our division and 3 months post discharge phase. The informations obtained:
1. Age 13-30 years (average. 54.8 yr)
2. Level of amputation: 2 symes, 12 below knees, 6 above knees.
3. Able to have 12 complete evaluations: 7 loss of follow-up, 1 deceased.
4. 17 patients showed good functional response by this profile, one remained the same.
